The original version of “Louder Than Rock” was released theatrically on April 28, 2023.  This campaign is to fund the BRAND NEW Director’s Cut of the beloved documentary. More footage, more scenes, more inspiring moments!

“Louder Than Rock” is a feature length documentary account of the life of musician Caleb Quaye. It’s a story of “Rags To Riches To Rags To Redemption.

Caleb Quaye is best known as Elton John’s Original guitarist, but not many people know the story of the man who helped Elton get his first recording contract at Dick James Music (DJM) while they were teens. He became Elton’s first producer as well as his guitarist playing on all of “The Classic” albums. Caleb has also been called “The World’s Greatest Guitarist” by Eric Clapton.

Caleb reunited with Elton in 1975 for the “Captain Fantastic Tour” and “Rock of The Westies” tour. After Elton dissolved that band Caleb went on to tour with Hall & Oates. During this period on his 30th birthday in Oct 1978, after a performance in Atlanta Caleb heard “The Voice” for the first time. His life had spiraled out of control. Beginning with his father’s desertion at age 12…as an adult he lost his wife, his money and almost his career. He became a drug addict who was selling drugs, guitars and whatever he could get his hands on. While on tour with Hall and Oates in Atlanta on his 30th birthday Caleb first heard “The Voice”.

His Salvation came in the form of his friend Chester Thompson, drummer for Genesis and a devout Christian. For years he would ask Caleb if he’d like to come to church. Caleb would decline… All that changed on Easter Sunday 1982 when Caleb at his lowest point called Chester and he invited Caleb to church. Caleb agreed, went to service that day at Church On The Way in Van Nuys, CA and heard “The Voice” again who told him “Today you WILL come to ME” Caleb was SAVED that day and hasn’t looked back. He left the Rock world and became an ordained minister. He has a thriving music ministry and has performed at Worship conferences worldwide.

In 2009 Caleb returned to his musical DNA by forming his present band “The Faculty”. The band is a mix of inspirational jazz-fusion music with 2 cds released “Out Of The Blue” 2010 and “All The Way Live” live recording in 2011. They are currently performing around Southern California.
To bring it all full circle, Caleb was named Worship Pastor at Church On The Way in May 2014… After more than three decades he’s back in the place where his new life started. Caleb resides with his wife, daughters and grandchildren here in Southern California. WHAT A LIFE!!

FOR-PROFIT FUNDING PARTNER

At Kappa Distribution, we strive to ensure absolute transparency and fairness for all those who contribute financially to our films. This includes both those who have supported the film’s production and those who contribute to its marketing and distribution. Therefore, we reject the conventional Hollywood financial models where only a few individuals receive the majority of the revenue generated by the film, leaving the vast majority with little to no compensation. Instead, with Kappa Distribution, we all share in the revenues from the very first dollar generated until the last.
When a film is distributed, there are myriad revenue streams that generate income, such as theatrical releases, digital streaming, and foreign sales. The majority of the revenue (approximately 70%) is earned within the first year after the film’s release. By the end of the second year, approximately 90% of the film’s total revenue will be received, with the remaining 10% trickling in during the third year and beyond.

As our mission at Kappa Distribution is to impact the culture for Christ, we believe it is crucial to assist filmmakers in achieving financial success so that they can continue creating films that make a positive impact on the culture. Therefore, after decades of experience and years of prayer, we firmly believe that the following financial model is in the best interest of all parties involved:

Initially, all revenues generated through the film’s distribution will be split as follows:
  • Marketing & Distribution funders 40% (prorated)
  • Filmmaker/Film funders 35%
  • Kappa Distribution 25%
Once the marketing & distribution funders are made whole, revenues are split as follows for the duration of the agreement:
  • Marketing & Distribution funders 10% (prorated)
  • Filmmaker/Film funders 70%
  • Kappa Distribution 20%
